Playing with Digital Scrapbooking Beads - How to Use ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates: Beads in PSE
ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates: Beads allow you to make custom digital scrapbooking borders and embellishments for your layouts and paper projects. Below are several methods for adding color and texture to your beads. Use these ideas as a guide for making unique digital scrapbooking bead embellishments of your own.

Idea #1 - Add a chrome effect. Simply open one of the Bead Templates in PSE3 and add one of the chrome effects in the Styles and Effects Palette. Adjust the shadow and bevel as desired by double-clicking on the little round "f" icon in the Layers Palette.

Idea #2 - Add color using the paint bucket tool. Make sure "contiguous" is checked and fill the beads with your chosen colors. To add texture, place a grungy ScrapSimple Paper Template (such as one from Grounded One or Two) on top of the bead layer, then create a clipping mask (Ctrl+G). While keeping the grunge paper template layer active, experiment with Blend Modes and opacities until you are happy with the texture of your beads. Link and merge the layers. Add a bevel to your beads.

Idea #3 - Embellishments can be used to create a painted effect. Using Technique 2 described above, fill your beads with color. Choose an embellishment from a Scrap Girls collection and place it on various beads as desired. Link and merge all layers, then add a bevel. In this example, I used a flower from the Gypsy Boots Collection by Angie Briggs. Just a few little flowers really set these beads off.
