How to Use ScrapSimple Digital Scrapbooking Layout Templates: Tiled - Basic
First, open the template you wish to fill.

Here I chose ScrapSimple Digital Layout Templates: Tiled- Basic 1. I am going to fill my template with a paper from Keri Schueller's Silkscreen Collection (retired). To make the most of this paper, I rotated my template 90 degrees and I am ready to fill it.

Go to your Bucket Fill Tool, right-click, and choose the "Texture Fill Option" (the last one). In the Tool Bar across the top of your screen, you will see the option for photo and next to that a box that says "More." Click on this box. This will open your browser so that you can go through your files and choose the paper you want to use. Select your paper. It will show up in the window to the right of the photo option. This is what it should look like with your browser open.

Make sure your template layer is selected, (the marching ants should be marching around the black areas of the template). Take your Selector and drag a selection open to cover your whole template. Your template should fill with the paper you have chosen. If you don't drag your selector over the whole template it will automatically tile the paper to fill the shape. (This could be done for a funky effect, though, if you want.) This is what it will look like as it fills. This might take a minute, but you can still see the marching ants.
Now that your template is filled, you can add pictures or embellishments in front of or behind your template layer and finish your layout. If you are using a traditional template with windows, you will have your template filled with a paper, and you can place your photos behind the template to show through the windows.
Here is my finished layout.
