How to Digitally Color Fonts
Note: Digital scrapbooking tutorial created using Photoshop CS2 on a PC.
This is an easy way to add a punch of color to your digital scrapbook layout page by filling in the open spaces in your font. Here's how to achieve this look in Photoshop (PSCS2) using AMC_DaisyDoodle Font.
First begin by creating a basic layout:
1. Open a new digital scrapbook layout document and place a background paper. I've chosen a bright, floral pattern from the Bloom Collection that will coordinate with my font.

2. Next, choose and place into that document a paper background for the title. I chose a textured one without any contrast, so that the colors in the flowers will stand out. I will also use this as a background to my photograph.

3. Place a photograph on the digital scrapbook layout page. I selected an area around the photograph and extended it below where I wanted to place my title.

4. Select> Inverse and then delete the remaining portion of the paper. Then, choose Select> Deselect.

5. Type in your title. I am using AMC_DaisyDoodle Font at 100pt size.

6. Change the color of the type to your desired color. I chose a green from the background by using the Eyedropper Tool, and made it darker by adjusting the brightness level.

7. Choose Layer> Rasterize> Type.

8. Now you can fill in the spaces of the flower petals with the Paint Bucket Tool. I selected white and yellow (again by using the Eyedropper Tool).

I also linked the layers together and moved them up on the page.
9. I added a few digital scrapbook embellishments and a little drop shadowing for depth, and there you have it! An easy way to add color to your font.
