In this example, I'll show you how to create a digital scrapbooking layered round tag using various ScrapSimple Tools Shapes, Styles and your favorite papers.

 

After selecting the Custom Shape Tool (below the Type Tool), I selected a zig-zag-edged round tag from ScrapSimple Tools – Shapes: Round Tags 5401.

 

After making a new layer, I dragged my cursor while holding down the Shift key. By holding down the Shift key, I'll get a perfect shape without distortion.

 

Now I want to add another layer to the tag for dimension. This time, I selected an outline shape from the ScrapSimple Tools – Shapes: Round Tags set.

 

I centered my outline shape over the tag and made sure I didn't cover up the punched hole.

 

Now I want to create an eyelet to add to the punched hole. From the ScrapSimple Tools – Shapes: Embellishments 1801, I've selected the eyelet shape.

 

I've made a new layer and centered the eyelet shape over the hole. As you've probably noticed, I've made my various shapes different shades of gray so that I can see my shapes when they are stacked on top of each other.

 

Now I want to add papers and Styles to my assembled tag. I've chosen a paper from the digital scrapbooking Tootsie Collection Mini.

 

After dragging the dotted paper over the bottom zig-zag shape, I selected the paper layer and typed Ctrl+Alt+G to create a clipping mask.

 

I'd like the dots to be smaller, so by typing Ctrl+T, I can transform the paper. In this example, I've scaled the paper down to 50%.

I chose another paper from the Tootsie Collection Mini, dragged it onto the outline shape, made a clipping mask, and scaled down the paper.

 

For the eyelet, I loaded ScrapSimple Tools – Styles: Brushed Aluminum 5401 and applied one of the Styles to the shape layer.

To make the tag more realistic, I applied ScrapSimple Tools – Styles: Neutral Shadows 2802 to each shape layer.

 

Here is the finished digital scrapbooking tag!
