Create Your Own Rectangle Tag Digital Scrapbook Embellishment with ScrapSimple Tools in Photoshop and PSE
In this example, I'll show you how to create a layered rectangle digital scrapbooking tag using various ScrapSimple Tools Shapes, Styles and your favorite digital scrapbooking papers.
After selecting the Custom Shape Tool (below the Type Tool), I selected a simple rectangle tag from ScrapSimple Tools – Shapes: Rectangle Tags 5401.
After making a new layer, I dragged my cursor while holding down the Shift key. By holding down the Shift key, I'll get a perfect shape without distortion.
To add another layer to the tag, I've selected a scalloped tag from the same Shape set.
I made a new layer and created the scalloped tag. I selected a light gray color so that I can see the shapes stacked on top of each other.
I need to alter the scalloped shape tag to show the plain tag. To do this, I selected the Direct Selection Tool. It's the Outlined Arrow Tool underneath the Smudge Tool. After I selected the shape layer with the scalloped tag, I dragged my Direct Selection Tool over the scallop's edge to select the path points. I used the up arrows to move the scallops up. Now I can see the plain tag underneath.
To add a shaped eyelet to the tag, I've loaded and selected the flower eyelet shape from ScrapSimple Tools – Shapes: Deluxe Tags 5401.
I've made and centered the eyelet over the punched holes in the tags underneath.
I made another shape layer with the tied thread from the same Deluxe Tags Shape set.
Now it's time to add papers and effects to the tag. I've opened a paper from the Grow Collection and dragged it on top of the bottom tag. I selected the paper layer and typed Ctrl+Alt+G to create a clipping mask.
I made the stripes smaller by using the Transform Tool (Ctrl+T).
I added a dotted paper from the same paper collection, made a clipping mask, and reduced the size of the dots by using the Transform Tool again.
I changed the color of the eyelet by selecting the yellow stripe color with the Eyedropper Tool and typing Alt+Delete to fill the shape with yellow.
I applied ScrapSimple Tools – Styles: Stitch 1801 to the tied thread shape.
To the eyelet shape, I applied ScrapSimple Tools – Styles: Chipboard 1801.
To adjust the the Style intensity, I clicked on the Style button (the script "f" in a circle) on the Shape layer, and held and dragged down to the "Scale Effects" option. Then I dragged the slider to 72%.
Here is the final digital scrapbooking tag with the Chipboard Style applied to the tag shape layers.
