Creating a Baby Layout Using ScrapSimple Digital Scrapbooking Layout Templates: Tiled-Mini
From ScrapSimple Digital Layout Templates: Tiled-Mini, open Template 2 in your photo editing program. (I used Photoshop, but there are instructions with each set of templates for other programs.) You will see that the Tiled Templates are made of many squares. Each of these squares can be filled as a group or separately.
For this layout, I began by selecting my pictures and opening them in my workspace. I selected squares to fill with my first picture using the Magic Wand. Then to make a clipping mask, I went to Edit> Copy> Paste which creates a separate layer. I pulled my picture onto my template and made sure it was directly above the selection I just created.
By hitting Ctrl+G (or Alt+Ctrl+G in PSCS 2), you will see your picture cut out by the template.
Continue making selections and adding your photos.
You don't have to fill every selection with a photo. I saved some of the squares and added coordinating papers.
Once I had all of the selections filled, I decided to add some brushwork to soften the lines. I used Mandy Steward's Rugged Décor Brush Set. Each photo and paper is still a separate selection, so one by one I chose each photo and area where I wanted to add some interest. I used colors to coordinate, white and pink, and also used the brush as an eraser in parts. (To use the eraser, you have to merge the layers so your black mask doesn't show through.)
I added a background and now I am ready to add my embellishments. I layered some ribbons, adding shadows for depth, and added a tag and a button for my title.
