“Make Your Own Card Kit” Altered Art Box
by Mandy Steward
Supplies Used:
- Copper Biggie Collection
- Matte Mod Podge
- Paint Brush
- White Paint
- Art Box for $.60 at Hobby Lobby
One of my family members loves making cards, so I decided to gift them a card-making kit. First I painted the art box with white paint. Then I decorated this box with Dinny’s Copper Collection. I made the title in Photoshop and then printed it out as one big panel for the top of the box. I plan to fill the box with little papers, ribbons, stickers, envelopes and embellishments.

“A Touch of Grace” Wall Hanging by Mandy Steward
Supplies Used:
- Powder Collection Biggie (retired)
- ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates: Stitches
- Matte Mod Podge
- Paint Brush
- White Paint
- Wooden Squares
- Ribbon (Michaels)
- Sawtooth Picture Hanger (Home Depot)
My husband has a CD shelf hanging in his office. He had several wooden square dividers leftover that he didn’t need. He planned on trashing them, but I was super excited when I found them and claimed them as my own treasure.
For this wall hanging, I painted the wooden squares white. Then I printed out the picture and the title block, which I designed in Photoshop. I adhered the images with Mod Podge and then painted over them with Mod Podge too to seal it. I then attached the two wooden squares together with two pieces of ribbon. I adhered the ribbon with a super glue. The finishing touch was to nail in a sawtooth picture hanger.

Altered Journal by Anna Nielson
Supplies used:
- Go Boldly Collection Biggie
- May Arts ribbon
- Offray ribbon
- Prima forever flowers
- American Crafts letter stickers

I learned how to make this cool gift by reading the Scrap Girls newsletter. (Thanks Angie!) This is so easy, and as Angie said, very cheap too! I created my layout in Photoshop (4x4 size) and then printed it out on photo paper. I adhered it to the tile using Mod Podge, making sure to smooth out the layout to eliminate air bubbles. I sprayed the tile with sealer.
I was hoping the tiles could be used as coasters, so I got a water resistant sealer. I also bought felt squares to attach to the bottom to reduce the chance of scraping a desk or coffee table. But then after I got them done, I thought they they were so pretty, I decided to buy easels and give them as decorative gifts to display.
Each tile uses Mod Podge, spray sealer, a paint brush and the tile which I got from Home Depot, as well as additional supplies listed below each tile.
