Using Digital Scrapbooking Textures in Digital Image Pro
Because Digital Image Pro does not have an official “texture” function that allows you to import textures into it, here's a simple way to get around it. We can actually end up with many more interesting results that are not available in other software packages, so it’s really neat!
Let’s begin...

1. Create your new digital scrapbook layout file.

2. Insert a paper (or fill the background with color – whichever you prefer), creating your first stack.

3. Insert the texture graphic PSD file that you take from the Photoshop file that is included with the texture delivery. (Yes, it is a PSD file, but it works. And I have checked and the PSP JPG works, too! So either way is good.)

4. Drag the image out so that it covers your layout.

5. Grab your Magic Wand by going to Edit> Selection Tools> Magic Wand.

6. Select the background color (the black) with the Magic Wand. You will know that it is selected because the patterned part has “marching ants” around it.

7. Go to Effects> Fill with Texture or Color.

8. Select a color that you like. I prefer to use one that I know will blend with my background.

9. Adjust the transparency level to a level that you like. (Note, if the texture has black around it, as this one does, and you don’t like it, you can get rid of it via the Magic Wand.)
Now the fun begins. We are going to “fake” textured looks and do interesting things via the Effects Filters menu. Here are a few examples of the results you can achieve. The possibilities are really endless though, so just play around and experiment.

This beautiful results occurred using the Surface> Metal Chrome Simple Filter.

This wonderful result occurred when I used the "Pencil Crosshatch" Filter.

This result came from the Pencil> Crisscross Dark Smudge Filter.
Aren’t they awesome?
Have fun with Scrap Girls textures. You are going to have a ball using them in your digital scrapbooking!
