Welcome to Scrap Girls! We are so happy that you decided to join our forum. I'm sure that as you browse our website many questions will arise. I'll attempt to answer a few here in this tutorial. Let's begin with the basics.
How do you register at Scrap Girls?
Go to http://www.scrapgirls.com. On the screen you will see the ScrapGirls home page. On the top of this page you will find links to all areas of our site. The home page also shows many beautiful screenshots of items in our boutique, plus links to our most recent newsletters, tutorials and freebies below.
In order to access the member area of the site, you will need to register.
To do this, click on the "Message Board" link at the top of the page. On the next page, below the main links, you will see Welcome Guest and two options. One is "Log In" (returning members), the other is "Register" (to become a member). Of course, at this point, if you have not registered, you will want to do so. (Before you register, we recommend you read our Terms of Use or TOU. A link to this can be found on the far left-hand corner.) When you are ready, click on "Register."
One of the first questions you will be asked is if you are over 13 years of age. This is the COPPA Registration. PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY and be sure you click on the correct link. For the majority of you it will be the first link, as you were born BEFORE 1993. Clicking the correct link will expedite your registration.
Next, you will be asked to read and agree to the Terms of Use. When you are finished, please check the box and click "Register."
Next, you will see the main registration page.
You will be asked to choose TWO names. One is your username. This is the name you use to log in to your account. The other name is your display name. This is the name you will use on the message boards. We recommend you use a display name that doesn't reveal your identity. In other words, don't use your first and last name, or e-mail address. A first name and last initial, or a pet name will work just fine. For convenience's sake, you may choose a username that is the same as your display name so that it is easy for you to remember. Of course, this is just a suggestion. But please record both names as well as your password and place them in a file for later reference if necessary.
You will then enter a working e-mail address. Please do NOT use an e-mail that is invalid. We need to validate you and your account and if you use an invalid e-mail, we will not be able to get you registered. Several other options will follow, including your e-mail preference (do you want to receive e-mail from members or administrators?), choosing your time zone, and finally, entering a security code. This security code does nothing except confirm that you are a human being registering at this web site.
Click on "Submit my registration."
Next, you will see a confirmation screen. This will tell you to check your e-mail and await further instructions. Please remember to CHECK YOUR E-MAIL and follow the instructions within. It might take up to 10 minutes to receive that e-mail so please be patient.
