Five Simple Steps to Creating a Scrapbook Page with Scrap Girls Printables
Step One: Get Organized
Choose a subject and pictures for your layout. Go to www.scrapgirls.com and select a collection to download. It is best to match your photos and subject theme to the papers, but you don’t have to... be creative! I chose Durin Eberhart's Turquoise Collection (retired) for my page. For my layout I used a recent photo of my boyfriend and me.
Create a sketch to help plan out your photo, title and journaling arrangement.
Step Two: Print & Cut Paper
Print out the Scrap Girls paper, alphabet and embellishments of your choice. For my layout I used Turquoise Print, Poppy, and Starlight Papers all from the Turquoise Collection (retired). I cut three blocks (7x2.5, 7.5x2.5 & 8x2.5), one from each sheet of printed paper.
Step Three: Journaling
Before you glue anything down, write your journaling. You can handwrite or computer-generate your journaling, whichever method works best for you.
On my layout, I used a computer font, SP Toby Type, downloaded from the Internet. I printed my journaling on a piece of white cardstock to add a simple, clean feel.
Step Four: Add a Title
The title can be any font or size you wish. You can place a title across the top of the page, along the bottom, the side—wherever you want. I used the same font as my journaling and Ghost Letters by Heidi Swapp to create the large "US" on the top of my page.
Step Five: Adhere it down
Arrange everything until you like it, then use adhesive to glue everything to the background sheet. I like to use acid-free adhesives to help maintain and preserve the look of my albums. It’s as easy as that! Your five-step easy page is all done!
