Using Fancy Fold Templates in Paint Shop Pro

Open each layer of the Corner Folds Template and then Copy> Paste the base layer as a new image. Copy> Paste each layer of the template as a new layer (in the correct order) into the new image. As you drag, or Copy> Paste each layer, you will need to move it into place. To make this easier, run PSP ScrapSimple Tools Assemble Squares or Rectangles Script (sold separately). This will insure each layer is exactly where it belongs.
When you have the new image assembled, save it as either a PSPIMAGE or a PSD file, both will preserve the layers. I save mine in the same folder as the original PNG files.
Next, I open my photo and add a white border to it by going to Image> Add Border. I chose a Stroke of 15, Color: white. I then Copy> Paste my photo onto my layout.
Let’s add our papers now. You will repeat these steps with each gray template layer after you are done with the base.

I choose my paper and drag it onto my layout just above the base layer. To cut the paper to match the template, activate the template layer and then the Magic Wand. Set the Match Mode to Opacity and click inside the TRANSPARENT area of the template layer. You should now have marching ants. Click to activate your paper layer and hit Delete, (CTRL+D) to deselect, or Selections> Select None. The transparent selection should now match your base layer.

We will need this same paper on part of the paper fold. Again, drag or Copy> Paste the paper over the larger part of the paper fold. Use the steps from above to cut your paper to the shape of the fold, making sure that you are on the template of the fold, not the drop shadow or highlight.

Use these steps again for the tiny fold that would be the back part of the paper. I used a yellow paper, as it nicely complements the greens in my photo. Decide on a paper to show above the fold area and simply drag it under the base layer.

I then add my quote and want it to stand out a bit, so I will give it a bevel. This is a different way to obtain a cool 3D effect. Start by selecting what you want to add the bevel to. In my case, I just wanted to do the quote, not the swirl. Selections> Modify> Expand.

In the dialogue box that opens, put in the number of pixels you want to expand by; I used 5 here. You will see the marching ants move away from what you had selected by the number of pixels you put in.

With the text still selected, activate your PAPER layer, Effects> 3D> Inner Bevel. I used the Speedometer Bevel from the ScrapSimple Tools - Scripts: Bevels 7501. I then selected the swirl and applied Lori Cook's Gold Script.
