Did you know there is an e-card feature at Scrap Girls?
An e-card is an electronic greeting card you get to personalize and share
through email. It's an easy and fun way to say "Happy Birthday,"
"Congratulations," "I Love You," and more to your
online friends and family. Any registered member of Scrap Girls can send
e-cards at no charge.
The Scrap Girls gallery has more and more digital greeting
cards being uploaded all the time. With Scrap Girls offering many different
products related to cards (everything from templates to sentiments), I'm
not surprised. My goodness -- search for the word "card" in
the gallery and you will find at least 90 pages! Today I will show you
how easy it is to use the e-card tool.
First, go to the Scrap Girls gallery. You can find a link
for it at the top of any Scrap Girls page. When you get there, you will
notice (more on the right of your screen) the words "Search By,"
followed by a box for you to type in. In the box, type in the card you
would like to find. I wanted to find an "I Love You" card, so
I typed in: "I Love You card." You could type in anything, even
just the word "card" will pull up anything card related.

Next to the search box is a drop-down menu with the choices
of "Caption" or "Description." You can search for
your words in the captions (which are the titles members give to their
layouts or cards) or in the descriptions (the part where members list
details about their layout or card). I chose the default of "caption,"
since this should give me more accurate results.

Your search will probably result in a few choices. Pick
the card you like and click on it to be taken to its page. You will obviously
want to pick a card that doesn't have someone's name on the front or other
personalized information. I chose the card below, created by yours truly!

On the right of your screen, above the photostrip, you will
see three buttons you can click on. The middle option says "Ecard."
Click on "Ecard."

Now you get to personalize the ecard. You will get to fill
in the recipient's email address, your email address, a subject
line, and in the big white area, you can type in anything you would like.
You can add something short and sweet, or use the space to type several
paragraphs. You will see drop down menus where you can change the color
of the background, border, and text. Make your choices and fill in the
fields as you wish. When you are finished, click on "Preview Ecard."
This will allow you to view your card before sending it.

The next page is your preview screen. What you see on your
screen is exactly what your recipient will see. If you're not happy with
some part of your ecard, click on "Modify Ecard," and play with
your words and color choices until you are happy. If you like what you
see and are ready to send it, click on "Send Ecard."

The person you sent the ecard to will get an email in their
inbox similar to the one in the image below. It will tell them that they
were sent an ecard from the Scrap Girls site, and it will include a link
for them to view the card on the Scrap Girls website. Note how the card
you selected on the Scrap Girls website never actually leaves the site,
but your recipient receives a link to it.

When they click on the link in their email, they will be
able to view the ecard. They will see something like this (just
like what you saw in the preview screen).
And that's all there is to it - now go have some fun
and send a Scrap Girls ecard today!
