Software Used: Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Name of Challenge: Use an alpha brush set.
Directions for one technique I did on this layout: This template from ScrapSimple Digital Layout Album Templates: 12x12 Smart Stackers Volume 1 has places for curved trim. While I could have used papers to color the trim pieces in the layout template layers, I chose to use the tape measure and lace instead. Then I used the Puppet Warp Tool in Photoshop (Edit> Puppet Warp) to manipulate them to fit the curves of the template.
Software Used: Adobe Photoshop CS6 Name of Challenge: Use at least three photos on your layout.
Directions for one technique I did on this layout: This magnificent picture from Galeries Lafayette in Paris is so intricate and stunningly beautiful, and I needed an alpha to match it. I wanted something quite elegant and stylish, but also functional – like the building. I chose Amanda Fraijo-Tobin's Brush Set: Grungy Lace Alpha Biggie. I kept the color simple, stamping on a separate layer, and just added a slight Outer Glow in a medium blue. The lace gave the page just the edge it needed and allowed me to keep the page simple with no embellishments except some bokeh for atmosphere.
Software Used: Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 Name of Challenge: Use an alpha brush set.
Directions for one technique I did on this layout: On this digital scrapbooking layout, the word "letting" in the title was made from Brush Set: Art Diary Alpha Super Biggie. First, I stamped each letter onto its own layer and positioned them to my liking. Then I merged all the brush layers into one by highlighting them all and hitting Ctrl+E. Then I hit Ctrl+Click on the thumbnail of the newly merged layer so that the "marching ants" appeared. Next, I made a new blank layer underneath the merged brush layer. With the marching ants from the merged brush work layer still active, I selected the Paint Bucket Tool and clicked within the marching ants while on the newly made layer under the brushwork. The result is a fill within the marching ants - on its own layer. Then I clipped a coordinating paper to this layer. This creates a matte for the title work. This same process was done on the word "go" which was created with type.
Software Used: Adobe Photoshop CS4 Name of Challenge: Use an alpha brush set.
