3 Favorite Products:
Collections, Templates and Styles, Oh my!

There are some products in the Scrap Girls Boutique that I use in most of my layouts: Collections, ScrapSimple Templates and Styles. If I needed to create a layout without any of them, it would definitely be a challenge. In this article, I'll show you a few of my favorites and explain why I chose to use them on my digital scrapbook page.
I always use a collection or two in my layouts and could easily use a dozen collections on a page! I would show you my favorites, but I couldn't choose a favorite collection from the boutique any more than I could choose a favorite child; I love them all. Today I am working with photos of my 15 year old son baking cookies. Brandy Murry's Shabby Bakery Collection Biggie is perfect because the color palette is neutral and the embellishments aren't too cute or girly for a layout featuring a teenage boy.
Angela Blanchard's ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates: Bakers Twine fit well with the theme of my page. I chose to color them green to tie in with my son's clothes and apron. ScrapSimple Embellishment Templates can take a little more time when you're learning to use them; however, the ability they give you to customize embellishments for your page makes them a great bargain.
Styles are another of my favorite products. Sarah Batdorf's ScrapSimple Tools - Styles: Photo Borders 6501 show up in many of my layouts. I love frames. I buy collections just for their frames, but sometimes finding a frame that fits the exact shape of how I want to crop the photo is a challenge. Using these styles, I can add a perfectly sized photo frame to my photos with one click of my mouse. There are several different frame options included in the style, so sometimes it takes a few clicks to find the best one for my layout.

Creative Cards Chat

High Noon Crop

Join April (April Showers) each Wednesday at 12 Noon ET for the High Noon Crop. All coasts and time zones are welcome! These crops are designed to allow you to work on your own photos and themes, simply giving participants a one hour goal and a fun, new challenge each week.
On November 7th, we'll have a Color Challenge! Create a layout using the rich warm tones of autumn.
Create your layout and upload it to the special High Noon Crop Gallery. You'll be amazed what you can get done in just one hour, but there is no High Noon Sheriff timing you! Hope to see you in the chat room!

November's Forum Game: Products Picks Game
This November we are playing the Products Picks game where we encourage you to stroll through the aisles of the boutique and do a little window shopping.
Each Monday through Saturday in November, a member of the Welcoming Committee will post the name of one or two product designers in this Product Picks game thread. You will then head to the Scrap Girls Boutique and navigate to that particular designer's product pages. Choose any of their products (your favorite product, one you like, or one you wish you owned), then head over to the Product Picks game thread and share the product name, boutique link, and a brief explanation of why you chose that product.
At the end of the month, members who haves posted links to 41 products (one for each designer) will be entered in a drawing for one of three $10 GCs. Members who have posted links to 16-40 products will be entered in a drawing for one of two $5 GCs. And members who have posted links to 10-15 products will be entered in a drawing for one of two $3 GCs.
