A "sheet" consists of a grouping of items that will fit on an 8.5x11 document. Take care to make sure that the collection mini's color set is well balanced and that it has an idea that ties it together. It should contain enough embellishments and word art to be useful to someone who wishes to make several layouts from it. Also, take care that the embellishments are not a grouping of a small number of items that have just been re-colored. This is your opportunity to show your versatility and skill level.
Examples of all of these products can be found in our Boutique.

If a talented person comes along whose skills are not quite what they might be, but we feel they would be a super-committed, dynamic member of our team if given a little help, we may choose to put them through an apprentice program.
We look forward to seeing your application!

The REAL Me
Recently, I have been reading a book that has started me to thinking about the lies that I believe that take away joy from my daily living. It's made me start to see how as women we just aren't REAL. We don't show our real selves; we are always trying to show our perfect selves. We try to paint our picture as perfectly as we can; we try to show all the good things we do - our strengths and never our weaknesses - yet we are hurting ourselves and others in the process.
While this book was written to homeschooling moms, I have loved the book so much that I think every woman should read it! In Lies Homeschooling Moms Believe (Familyman Publishing, Milford, Indiana), author Todd Wilson writes about things that homeschooling moms do, but I have come to believe that all women share these same struggles.
It has made me want to become more real, to stop trying to hide my imperfections, my weaknesses, and start showing who I really am, and hopefully give others the permission to do the same - to see each other as we really are.
So in this article, I thought I would start by sharing more of the REAL me, that me who is not so pretty all the time, not so put together, not so creative, and not so "super mom."
Here are 10 of my REAL happenings lately. Hopefully this might help you feel better about the REAL you.
I am writing this Designer's Life article two weeks after its due date because I completely forgot about it and have been procrastinating it ever since.
We just got back from a four-day trip to Idaho. We've been home four days, and my car is still unpacked with garbage all over the floor. Not just garbage either. Leftover dinners of corndogs, fries, water containers, food wrappers, and other unknown food items I haven't been able to climb in the back to see yet.
I have had to wash the same load of laundry three times now.
My office is officially the junk room. It's the room I just send stuff to. The kids go in and pull things off, and the room gets further destroyed and is a mess. It rarely gets cleaned, and when it does, it doesn't seem to stay that way for long. The sad part is that I really have a hard time being creative and wanting to design in such a room.
My husband and I love to watch Biggest Loser on TV. The sad part: We love to sit and watch it with a big bowl of ice cream or a bowl of guacamole and chips.
I rarely fix my girls' hair, especially the littlest one. She hates to have it combed and screams hysterically, and it's not worth the fight to me. She is slowly getting better... someday I might get to practice all those hairdos that I learned as a teenager when I was dreaming of using those ideas on my own children.
I need to lose 80 pounds.
I get mad at my kids... which usually ends up in a humbling and apologizing session on my part.
I have a hard time finishing projects and often have numerous left unfinished.
I'm not perfect. But despite my weaknesses, I really try to be happy with where I personally am in life and give myself room to grow, make mistakes, and hopefully get better.

Favorite Product I've Designed:
This was a really fun collection for me to create last summer. My kids love digging in the dirt, sand, swimming at the lake, and just getting plain dirty. In fact, that is one of my REAL mom moments - letting my kids get dirty and even eat dirt. This kit has been great for those many summer moments I have with my children.

July's Forum Game: Spotlight on the Boutique
Each day of June (with the exception of Sundays), a member of the Welcoming Committee will post an image spotlighting a small circle of the layout you are to search for in the Scrap Girls Boutique. If the layout is not identified by the following morning, a second spotlight circle will be added to the layout; this will be repeated until the product is identified.
All you have to do to participate is search the boutique for the layout and post a link to the product page in the official game thread. Only one guess per member per day is allowed. You can find more specific details in the forum game thread.
Three $10 gift certificates to the Scrap Girls Boutique will be awarded. The winners will be randomly chosen from all the members that correctly identify a product throughout the month.
For complete details, visit the Monthly Forum Games folder on the Scrap Girls Forum.
