Customer Muse: Reflection
I've always loved the act of putting words down on paper, whether I was hand writing them or typing them.
For one of my birthdays, as a young child, I had asked for a typewriter. To my surprise, I got one - an electric typewriter at that. It was amazing. From that day on, I typed and typed and typed. Not really knowing what to write, I came across a little typing exercise. For hours and hours I'd type: The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
After many, many mistakes, my typing got very fast and I went through loads of paper. Days, possibly weeks, went by and the only words to adorn my pages were: The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
During the day, if I wasn't typing, I couldn't wait to get home and begin again. At night, I would fall asleep to it repeating in my head. As an adult, I've learned that this must have been obsessive-compulsive behavior or maybe it was simply not having much of an imagination. Either way, the idea of writing has stayed with me through the good, the bad and the I wish I could forgets.
Growing up the youngest of six children, in a rather tiny house, I never felt like anything was truly mine, except for my time. It was all I had. My parents were definitely less strict during my childhood because, let's face it, they were exhausted. Any normal person would be. So, that left me alone with my thoughts a lot.
Recently, I came across Scrap Girls and discovered Ro's muses, along with everything else that the site offers. It's been like candy for me. Somehow, this site and I have crossed paths and made a connection. It's made me remember the things I've been passionate about over the years, if even for short periods of time.
I don't believe that it was a coincidence that I found this site. I believe we get gentle prodding's from someone who cares to see us fulfill our dreams. A loving and caring father who gently nudges us in the right direction, if we stay still long enough to listen.
OK, so I have been a little obsessed with the idea of someday being a writer, instead of believing and being one now. This could be my chance to try. Scrap Girls has helped me to see myself again. To see the reflection of the little girl who had so much fun being creative: drawing, writing, photography, making things, but most of all paying attention to and loving life. My life, which is a tremendous gift that shouldn't be wasted for another second.
For this insight alone, I am so grateful and inspired to share my life. Mistakes and all, I'm going to have fun. This is the beginning of an incredible plan, something exciting and wonderful and, hopefully this time, something more than: The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.

I use 2 different cameras; my digital is a Kodak DX 7440 and a Nikon Auto S2 not digital
3. Name one thing that every beginning digital
scrapbooker should know.

4. If you could be transformed into a digital
scrapbooking embellishment, what would you choose and why?
Oh, it would have to be a Butterfly! They start out as an icky bug and then as they grow they turn into a beautiful Butterfly. As I look back at my digital scrapbooking, it started out pretty icky and in the last couple of months, I've seen a change in my LO's. For the better, of course, on a personal level. I started out as a pretty mouthy teen and now at 50 I am a more refined mouthy adult. I like to consider myself have “pit bull tenacity" or so I've been told!!
5. What time of day do you find that you do
your best scrapbooking?
At night, I have total quiet in my house after 11 pm, so if I get a nap in, I can scrap until 1 or 2.
6. What is your favorite snack?
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!
7. What brand of toothpaste do you use?
Colgate.
8. What is your least favorite household chore?
Washing the windows! Ick.....
9. Finish this sentence. “I couldn’t
live without...”
Oh, this is a tough one. I couldn't live without my Laptop and Sewing Machine. Do I get two? If not, it would be the Laptop! I am assuming we aren't talking about people. At least I hope we're not!

April Board Game: Who Am I?
In honor of the month that starts the silliest
way possible... it's time to get our silliness on! This month
we'll be getting to know some silly and little known facts
about our Scrap Girls Team Members as we play a rousing game
of "Who Am I?" Every day, a member of the Welcoming
Committee will post a fact about one of the ScrapGirls Team
Members and ask, "Who Am I?" A new fact will be added
daily until someone correctly guesses which team member is
being described. Once a team member is correctly guessed, a
new team member will be featured starting the following day.
Team Members include anyone featured on
the "About
Us" page of the ScrapGirls website including Product
Design Team, Layout Artist Team, Welcoming Committee, etc.
Answers to the “Who Am I?” puzzles can be found
anywhere on the ScrapGirls site... including Gallery Layouts,
team member bios, Boutique Layouts, etc.
If you are the first to guess one of the
team members correctly you will win a $5 Gift Certificate to
the Scrap Girls Boutique! Remember you may only win ONCE during
the monthly message board game. We want as many people to win
prizes as possible!
