Durin Eberhart
Product Designer
Durin's interest in arts
and crafts began at an early age. She always received encouragement
to be creative from her family, her friends, and from a few
very special teachers. She now strives to do the same for her
two very artistic sons, ages 5 and 11.
Durin graduated from the University of Georgia
with a Master's degree in Middle Grades Education, with
a concentration in Art and Language Arts. In her last year at
UGA, she married Jim, who has been a wonderful and supportive
husband over the years. She taught for several years before
deciding to become a stay-at-home mom, a decision she has never
regretted. She used her artistic interests to serve in her church,
leading the arts and crafts classes for several years in the
children's VBS program, and teaching various age groups
on Sundays.
She decided to try digital scrapbooking to combine
her love of art with the efficiency of the PC, and for her,
it was a perfect fit. After only a couple of months, she decided
to get Photoshop Elements and try to design her own scrapbooking
elements. Soon after that, she was very honored to become a
Scrap Girls Designer.

Cheryl Barber
Product Designer
Cheryl's introduction to scrapbooking
began about 6 years ago when she was home schooling. At that
time, she and her third grade son started a unit of study
on family heritage and began visiting older relatives asking
for photos and information.
She was dismayed to find there was really very
little information, even though there were quite a few pictures,
documenting both sides of her family. Many of the details
behind the photos, including names and dates, had been forgotten,
and creating a family heritage album proved much more difficult
than she had imagined. Cheryl had taken scads of photos of
family members and events over the years and she knew then
that she wanted to better preserve the history of her family's
past for future generations.
Cheryl began scrapbooking digitally in the summer
of 2003. She purchased PhotoImpact and started creating her
own heritage-style backgrounds and 3D embellishments, attempting
to create digital versions of "real" items she discovered
in her local scrapbook store. She began sharing these items
freely through a Yahoo list for digital scrapbookers, and,
before long, people were asking if she had a CD for sale.
In late November 2003, CB Digital Designs was
born. Cheryl opened a store online to sell The Vintage Collection,
Vol. 1 and one month later began offering new designs as downloadable
files from her webshop. Six months from that time, The Vintage
Collection, Vol. 2 was released.
In April 2005, Cheryl decided to close CB Digital
Designs so she could devote more time to designing, and began
offering her products at Scrap Girls, where she is thrilled
to be a designer.
Cheryl is a self-taught graphics artist, PhotoImpact
and Photoshop CS user. Her work has been published in CK magazine
and in Gregory Georges' book, 50 Fast Digital Photo
Techniques with Photoshop Elements 3. She is known for
her photo-realism and attention to detail in her designs for
"that paper scrapped look."
Cheryl is a born-again Christian and lives in
Lexington, Kentucky, with her husband of 24 years, Rodney,
two sons, Raith, 21, and Ryan, 16, and their long-hair Chihuahua,
Micro.

Tonya Doughty
Product Designer
Tonya has always been crafty and was not surprised
when her career turned to graphic design. She has worked in this
field for over 16 years, with two of those years working for Adobe.
First she provided level-one technical support for Photoshop,
then she managed that tech-support team for Photoshop as well
as Illustrator. This in-depth knowledge of Photoshop, along with
her career in graphic design, is probably what led her to try
digital scrapbooking.
Tonya had many friends who scrapbooked the traditional
way and were always encouraging her to give it a try. Already
having several (expensive!) hobbies, she was hesitant to pick
up another. She wanted to try scrapbooking on the computer, but
hadn't heard of anyone else doing it, and almost felt as if it
were "cheating," because it was so much easier than
paper scrapping for her.
Then a fateful trip to the craft store changed all
that. She saw the first digital issue by Simple Scrapbooks on
the shelf, grabbed it, and went through the entire magazine right
there in the store. It was as if she had been given permission
to scrapbook on the computer. That was in November 2003, and she
hasn't stopped since.
Her motto is, "If you're going to get wet,
you might as well go swimming," which totally fits her rapid
immersion into scrapbooking and other hobbies (she also knits,
crochets, sews and quilts). While she enjoys all the different
styles of digital scrapbooking, she prefers the realistic look.
She loves being able to fool someone into thinking her layout
is paper, and will take whatever time is necessary to try and
get the look just right.
Tonya is married to her husband of 7 years. They
have three daughters who are active in many sports, and so they
spend much of their time on the road.
