Shari Payne was introduced to paper scrapbooking in 2003 when she was invited to join two friends for their weekly scrapping day. She quickly became addicted. After having her daughter in late 2004, it became much harder to get together with her friends to scrap. Eventually it got pushed aside because of the danger of little hands getting into the scissors and X-acto knives.
After moving to a new house that had her dream “Craft Room,” it became clear that paper scrapbooking wasn't going to work anymore. The craft room was turned into a playroom and she went searching for an alternative. Shari discovered digital scrapbooking in late 2006. There was no question that this was the answer she was looking for! It wasn't long before she found Scrap Girls. That was it; she was “home.”
Shari enjoys the message board community here at Scrap Girls because everyone is so welcoming, loving, supportive, and fun! If you need a shoulder to lean on, you can always find one at Scrap Girls! The challenges also keep her motivated and inspired to keep up with those scrapbook layouts and memory albums! The gallery is her favorite place to find inspiration and ideas for new techniques.
Shari was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. She and her husband, KC, moved about an hour north-west of Phoenix, Arizona right after getting married in 1994. They welcomed daughter Kalyssa in November 2004. Son Kaden arrived in May of 2007.
In addition to digital scrapbooking, Shari enjoys being a stay-at-home mom, spending time with her family and friends, reading, traveling, singing, Sudoku, attending Ladies' Bible Study, MOPS and an Apples Of Gold book club, and motor sports (mainly landspeed and drag racing). Hobbies that have taken a back seat to digital scrapbooking include crocheting and cross-stitch.
