There are two great loves in Lori's life: art and animals. In her earlier years, she combined these two loves by spending her days working in the animal health care field and her nights and weekends crafting. When her career in the veterinary industry ended in the late 80’s due to health problems, she was thrilled to have all day, every day, to craft.
When she first stopped working, Lori authored an animal rights book (A Shopper's Guide to Cruelty-Free Products, Bantam, 1991), then spent years trying just about every craft she could - pottery, sculpture, beading, paper making, needle arts, and jewelry design, to name just a few. As an all-around artsy-phartsy type, there aren't many crafts she hasn't done over the years. She was eventually bitten by the graphics bug and has been glued to her computer ever since.
She is a self-taught graphic artist who uses Paint Shop Pro to create her designs. Digital scrapbook brushes are her favorite scrapbook tool. She is a confirmed filter and font freak, obsessed with having every filter and font known to mankind. Lori also owns and runs a Paint Shop Pro graphics group with members worldwide, many of whom are scrapbookers. In fact, they were the ones who not only got her started in digital scrapbooking, but whose kind words about the items she shared with them convinced her to become a designer.
Lori is very new to digital scrapbooking and currently does not print out her scrapbook layouts. She prefers to keep them in digital format for use as desktop wallpaper and screensavers. Her style ranges from classic sophistication to total grunge.
Lori lives in Florida with more animals than she feels comfortable admitting, and is very happy to be a part of the Scrap Girls team.
