Layout Artist

Janine and her husband live in Ontario, Canada and have three children, ages 21, 20 and 12. They share their home with a Shih-Tzu named Lexi and a hamster named Sandy. Janine is a full-time executive assistant at the church she and her family attend, which is a job that allows her to use her God-given creative talents in many ways. She also manages the church’s website and email newsletters.

Her love of arts & crafts began as a child when her mother gave her an embroidery kit at the age of seven. Since then, she has taken up many different crafts and hobbies with many different media, including the few years she took over her husband’s basement shop with a foray into folk art, woodworking and selling her creations at craft shows. Along with these crafts, she has always had a love of photography and capturing her family’s adventures and daily life.

In the summer of 2007 while looking for a graphic element to use at work, she stumbled upon the world of digital scrapbooking. Intrigued by the idea that she could combine her artistic talent and her love of working with a computer in a way to showcase her beloved family photos, she jumped in and soon discovered the online world of Scrap Girls. She now spends much of her spare time learning new techniques and trying new styles.

Janine is excited to be part of the Scrap Girls Layout Artist Team and hopes that she can be an encouragement and inspiration to other “self-taught” digital artists.
