Jan has always enjoyed crafts of all kinds, including fine art and has been fortunate enough to have had her work displayed in several local galleries. She has a particular penchant for textiles, and for some years ran her own business teaching textile art and being commissioned for animal portraits created on her trusty old sewing machine.
Photography is a passion of Jan's and so scrapbooking became a natural outlet for her love of art and photography. She went straight into digi - whilst she loves the texture and possibilities of paper scrapping, digital scrapping enables her to create more with fewer boundaries in terms of colour, size... and budget! She occasionally uses traditional paper methods for mini-books, circle journals and the like, but is far more at home in front of her PC.
Jan takes her inspiration from the world around her; her love of nature and wildlife, coupled with the love she has for her family provides her with endless material to scrap. Jan says that her style is quite grungy and alternative; she loves to create texture in her elements, drawing together the other artistic skills she has learned in her past.
She lives in the UK with Paul, her wonderful husband of 23 years. She's mum to two grown-up children and Nana to five gorgeous grandkids.
