Cheryl's introduction to scrapbooking began about six years ago when she was home schooling. At that time, she and her third grade son started a unit of study on family heritage and began visiting older relatives asking for photos and information.

She was dismayed to find there was really very little information, even though there were quite a few pictures, documenting both sides of her family. Many of the details behind the photos, including names and dates, had been forgotten, and creating a family heritage album proved much more difficult than she had imagined. Cheryl had taken scads of photos of family members and events over the years and she knew then that she wanted to better preserve the history of her family's past for future generations.

Cheryl began scrapbooking digitally in the summer of 2003. She purchased PhotoImpact and started creating her own heritage-style backgrounds and 3D embellishments, attempting to create digital versions of "real" items she discovered in her local scrapbook store. She began sharing these items freely through a Yahoo list for digital scrapbookers, and, before long, people were asking if she had a CD for sale.

In late November 2003, CB Digital Designs was born. Cheryl opened a store online to sell The Vintage Collection, Vol. 1 and one month later began offering new designs as downloadable files from her webshop. Six months from that time, The Vintage Collection, Vol. 2 was released.

In April 2005, Cheryl decided to close CB Digital Designs so she could devote more time to designing, and began offering her products at Scrap Girls, where she is thrilled to be a designer.

Cheryl is a self-taught graphics artist, PhotoImpact and Photoshop CS user. Her work has been published in CK magazine and in Gregory Georges' book, 50 Fast Digital Photo Techniques with Photoshop Elements 3. She is known for her photo-realism and attention to detail in her designs for "that paper scrapped look."

Cheryl is a born-again Christian and lives in Lexington, Kentucky, with her husband of 24 years, Rodney, two sons, Raith, 21, and Ryan, 16, and their long-hair Chihuahua, Micro.
