Ashleigh started scrapbooking in late 2006 after her oldest daughter was born. Unhappy with the selection of baby albums in the store, she decided to create the album herself. Daunted by the storage requirements of paper scrapbooking, she stumbled upon Scrap Girls in a happy accident after searching online for ideas about creating a baby album. After suffering a massive loss of data when her computer crashed, Ashleigh took a brief hiatus from scrapbooking. However, the warm and friendly community at Scrap Girls eventually drew her back into the world of digital scrapbooking (which now includes backing up those precious files).
Through scrapbooking, Ashleigh has discovered a creative part of herself that she never knew existed. Now, she sees inspiration in everything from billboards to graphic designs on clothing. She has also developed an interest in hybrid cardmaking and ATCs.
Ashleigh's other interests include reading, shopping, digital photography, The Sims 3, and finding more and more recipes for her trusty Crock Pot.
Ashleigh resides in Richmond, VA with her two young daughters, Jenelle and Akira, and their father Akeem. She finds time to scrap while managing the household and caring for the children. Often that time is very late at night or in the early morning hours!
